DIRECT SEND HINTS
OK, now this is neat. I just
played with this and I have to admit it’s a great idea. Direct Send
is the ability to send your contacts from your phone to another
Nextel user with the push of the PTT button. Although it’s not
available on all phones (In fact only the i860, i850, and i275 have
it), and you need a Direct Talk phone to send or receive, it’s an
easy tool to use, and of course free as part of the phone.
To send someone one of your
contacts, you simply:
-
Scroll to the contact you wish
to send.
-
Press the menu button and
select “Send Contact”
-
Type in the Direct Connect
number of the person that you wish to send to or:
-
Browse for their name in your
most recent calls, contacts, or memos.
-
Once you have selected who you
want to send what to, push the PTT button and off you go. You
don’t need to say anything when you Direct Connect, but as soon
as the button is pushed, the contact is being sent.
How to receive a Direct Send
Contact:
-
Once you receive the Direct
Connect from whomever is sending you the contact, respond if you
wish but the contact is already in your phone.
-
Go to your most recent calls
(down arrow is the keypad shortcut for this) and under the
Direct Connect you just made, should be the contact that was
sent.
-
Highlight your new contact and
choose “save”
-
The contact will appear exactly
in your contact list with all the details, including name, phone
numbers, DC numbers, and e-mail that appeared in the senders
contact list.
-
Feel free then personalize the
contact and resave.
