FINDING YOUR PHONE NUMBER OR DIRECT CONNECT NUMBER

Forgotten your cell phone number or your direct connect number?  Take your Nextel Cell phone and click on "menu".  Then look under menu for a selection called "My Info".  Click on "My Info".  Under "My info" you should find your cell phone number and your direct connect number.  On some phones you might have to scroll downwards to find "My info" under menu.

Note that on some phones it will not show you the complete numbers unless you click on changing the number.  Do that to view the number for phone or direct connect.  However, do not change anything of course, and just leave the section unchanged when done.  If you are concerned about leaving the area without changes, remember that clicking the phone red hand up button often will reset menus quickly.

FINDING YOUR SIM, IMEI, or SERIAL NUMBER ON YOUR PHONE

This one is a little bit trickier than the above one.  In this case, one must press four keys - each separately in a row some quickly to bring up an information screen.  The four keys to press in a row are:  "#", "*","menu", and the right arrow key in the upper toggle area.  Then toggle down to IMEI and SIM number information.  (Serial Number info may or may not be there also depending on the phone model).

Done?  No.  Recall that IMEI numbers and SIM numbers are 15 digits long.  Your phone will only show you 14 of those digits normally.  If a digit is missing, then add a zero on the end of the IMEI number or SIM number showing on your phone to get to 15 digits.

Note:  If your phone does not give you this information, and you still need IMEI or SN (serial number) info, those numbers are often shown on the phone itself by removing the battery and looking below on the phone surface where the battery was.  The IMEI number and Serial number are often displayed there.  As for the SIM number, that of course "might" be on the SIM itself, which is in the same compartment under the battery.  However, sometimes it is hard to write 15 digits on a SIM card and all might not have it marked.  The SIM sometimes therefore must be read by the phone itself electronically.
