ASDL

ASDL (Asymetric Digital Subscriber Line).  It is a high speed version of DSL which is used to transmit data at high speeds over normal telephone wire lines.

Using DSL or ASDL does require customers to be close to a telephone switching office - approximately within 20,000 feet.  Filters are often used on telephone lines using DSL or ASDL in order to separate data from the normal phone conversations.
