DATA

Data might be said to be any communication that is not simply voice.  Some examples of data:

• Text Messaging
• Camera Photos
• Email
• Multimedia - such as movie clips
• GPS information giving current or proposed location
• Credit Card billing information

These are just a few of the more common examples.  It is important to remember that for most wireless service, that voice options and data options are seperate services, and that one must request both in order to use data capabilities that you want for your data-ready cellular phone.
