FDMA
The term FDMA is seldom used, however, it could be correctly used to
describe analog cellular - which is basically very similar to
FM radio.
FDMA stands for Frequency Division Multiple Access. If this seems
confusing, let us break it down.
- Multiple Access implies a means where many people can be talking
at once - many conversations at one time
- D = Division asks the question how to keep all of those
conversations separate
- F stands for frequency. In
analog cellular, each cellular phone conversation would be operating
at a different frequency. Hence each conversation would be
private - at least by the means that the system is designed.
