IP

IP stands for internet protocol.  It is a means of sending data over the internet and between computers.  Of recently, IP has become so popular that it is being used for other applications, such as voice transfer for computer phones (voice over IP) and other usages.

But what is IP really?  It is really a coding method for packaging a "packet" of data - a small portion of meaningful data to another source.  It also includes - just as a postal letter - the address of where the information is to be sent and the address of where the information came from..
