ITU

ITU stands of International Telecommunications Union.  It is headquartered in Geneva Switzerland and helps define and regulate international telecommunications.  Telecommunications here includes both land line telephones and wireless types.  The ITU seeks to achieve agreement between countries and private industry on standards for telecommunications, such that telecommunication may be as consistent and usable as possible.
